Toyota SUVs safety & driving technology

All Toyota SUVs and Crossovers, including the all-new Toyota Corolla Cross, feature Toyota Safety Sense™, offering a Pre-Collision system with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Automatic High Beams, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

There are also different levels of the Star Safety System™, which includes Electronically Controlled Braking, Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Anti-lock Brake System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist, and Smart Stop Technology®. Be sure to consult your Toyota of Greensboro dealer to confirm which features are available on which models.

There are plenty of airbags surrounding your vehicle's occupants for maximum safety; eight in the Highlander, 4Runner, and Sequoia, and ten in the RAV4. These include driver and front passenger Advanced Airbag System, driver, front passenger and second-row outboard seat-mounted side airbags, driver knee airbag, and front passenger seat-cushion airbag.

All Toyota SUV models bring comfortable and protective seating to your travels, with 3-point seatbelts for all seating positions, and driver's-side Emergency Locking Retractor and Automatic/Emergency Locking Retractor on all passenger seatbelts. Toyota's LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) includes lower anchors and tethers on outboard second-row seats and tether anchor on middle of second- and third-row seats. There are also child-protector rear door locks with some models offering power window lockout control.

The Highlander and RAV4 offer one-year subscriptions to Safety Connect®, which includes Emergency Assistance, a Stolen Vehicle Locator, Roadside Assistance, and Automatic Collision Notification. These models also offer Hill Assist Control, and there are Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems in the Highlander, RAV4, and 4Runner. The 4Runner, Sequoia, and RAV4 have anti-theft systems with engine immobilizer. The 4Runner has Daytime Running Lights, while the Sequoia and RAV4 have Blind Spot Monitors with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. Finally, the Sequoia, like its Toyota truck cousins, has Trailer-Sway Control for whatever you're hauling.
