A six-speed automatic transmission system is compatible with both engines on this light-duty Toyota pickup truck. A manual gearbox with a clutch start-cancel switch is available for enhanced control. These rugged models also boast the Crawl Control for navigating harsh terrains at safe cruising speeds. Of course, the proprietary Bilstein shock absorbers significantly boost the off-road attributes of these Toyota trucks. Additionally, the Tundra offers the Adaptive Variable Suspension and Load-leveling Rear Height Control Air Suspension.
Utility Features
Featuring a sheet-molded composite (SMC) surface with fiber reinforcements, the 2022 Toyota Tacoma's bed is more durable than before. Similarly, the 2022 Toyota Tundra's SMC bed has aluminum reinforcements for even better durability. This all-new bed is engineered to support a payload of up to 1,940 lb. Rated at 400 W, a power inverter is conveniently accessible from the spacious bed. Opening the tailgate will be easy thanks to the all-new switch that's integrated into the rear taillights on the driver's side. Other premium utilities on the Tundra include a deck rail header, power running boards, and the signature BedStep. Similarly, the Tacoma is available with a 400-W inverter, deck rail system, and an insulated bed storage compartment.
Technology Features
Incorporated into the 2022 Toyota Tacoma dashboard, the infotainment system is available with a touch screen that measures 7 or 8 inches wide.
